Oct 31, 2016· So I put the flywheel/pulley back on and found a 2" multiv pulley with a 5/8" keyed bore. Bought a 18" piece of 5/8" keyed shaft and a couple of pillow blocks. Used the treadmill''s belt to couple the motor pulley and 2" pulley on the 5/8" shaft together and put the grinder belt drive wheel on the other end of the 5/8" shaft.

Variable speed motor would be nice I use step pulleys just like youve got I have the grinder and the motor bolted to a board and clamp that to the work table. The motor is bolted to a hinge so that the weight of the motor keeps the belt taught. FWIW I dont use the disk grinder much probably because I dont do much full tang work.

It had around a 6" dia. flywheel and the belt drive pulley around 1" dia all one piece with the threads for the shaft. If you had that it would probably be good to use it or maybe find one.
